Just bought most of my books for next quarter, and (so far!) I'm at a grand total of 81.95! *whoot*

I still need two books, one being Daisy Miller for American Novel, and the other being my Psychology of Men textbook which I can't get till the day of class. So I'm expecting books to be at around $200 this quarter.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about the books we'll be reading in American Novel next quarter - they're all books I've wanted to read and had on my list but never got around to it. All of them, save one.

The books I'm looking forward to:
The Great Gatsby
Daisy Miller
Catcher in the Rye (I finally get to read it!)
Grapes of Wrath
Color Purple.

Exciting, no?

The book that I do not want to ever even look at because I hate it so much:
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

I detest this book. Stewing raging hatred isn't strong enough to describe my feelings for it. I realize that it is an American Novel class, so I pretty much figured it'd be on the list. But, as a midwestern boy (don't know how it is in the rest of the States), I was forced to read that book in 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade. I GET IT ALREADY!!! Grrr. *kicks it*

ive read all those books, save daisy miller. that one ive never ever heard of. and im almost positive youll enjoy them as much as you think. just dont ever watch the movie The Great Gatsby if you havent already. dasiy will have you contemplating suicide. or at least turning it off.

and i loved huck finn. only read it for once class, though. survey of american lit. i think if i HAD to read it for class so many times, id dislike it too, though.
