That didn't happen to me, but yeah. It can happen.
Try taking an oatmeal bath. That might help.
ANd remember that parts of withdrawal are physical and unavoidalbe and other parts are psychological and happen because you *expect* them to be happening. Does that make sense?
I feel for you, really! I've quit smoking twice - while pregnant/nursing both my kids - and both times it felt like I was going out of my mind. Itchy, bugs-crawling-under-my-skin feelings, especially around 3am... The soles of my feet and the backs of my hands were probably the worst IMHO, but that little 4 inch square of skin directly between my shoulder blades was agony too.
If it's any consolation, the itchiness should go away in just a few days. To be followed by hot/cold flashes and possibly "phantom" visions - you know, those things you see out of the corners of your eyes? Yeah, those. Again, that phase shouldn't last but a few days. Next you get to deal with the worst case of PMS imaginable (regardless of gender issues, cus yes, men have PMS as well... just ask my son). The mood swings and hormone imbalances will pretty much feel like riding a series of tidal waves until the "poison" of nicotine is fully flushed from your system, and until your brain stops insisting that you must crave cancer sticks.
I'm certainly not trying to scare you with this, nor convince you to start smoking again. Better to be forewarned though, right? If you ever need someone to bitch to, commiserate with, or breathe second hand smoke in your honor, please do drop me a line.

As all the pollutants leave your body, your blood will flow better, and it will feel funny. ;)
Hold on tight bud! I've been through that. Of course I had a 20+ year habit, but still - the withdrawals kinda suck for a couple of weeks.
Good luck!
