Said I'd been writing. I give you, "Don't Do It." It's awful. I wish I still had that talent I used to have.
Don't make promises;
you won't keep them.
Don't smile when you reek of sadness,
I can see the tears inside.
Don't laugh at jokes
that don't make sense.
Don't make it seem
like the world laughs with you.
Don't ask me if I'm okay
when you know the answer.
Don't listen and nod and smile
when you don't want to know.
Don't turn up the music
to cover up the silence.
Don't ask me questions
you know the answers to
or don't want the answers to.
Don't pretend;
I see through you
like a window on a summer day.
You scream in the night
and I run to you.
You run away.
Don't say forever
when it doesn't suit you.
Don't hold me when I cry
because you set a precident.
Don't pray for me;
No one is listening.
Don't cry;
I don't believe you.
Don't make it okay
when it isn't.
Don't speak,
don't touch,
don't love,
don't understand.
Don't do it.
Don't make promises;
you won't keep them.
Don't smile when you reek of sadness,
I can see the tears inside.
Don't laugh at jokes
that don't make sense.
Don't make it seem
like the world laughs with you.
Don't ask me if I'm okay
when you know the answer.
Don't listen and nod and smile
when you don't want to know.
Don't turn up the music
to cover up the silence.
Don't ask me questions
you know the answers to
or don't want the answers to.
Don't pretend;
I see through you
like a window on a summer day.
You scream in the night
and I run to you.
You run away.
Don't say forever
when it doesn't suit you.
Don't hold me when I cry
because you set a precident.
Don't pray for me;
No one is listening.
Don't cry;
I don't believe you.
Don't make it okay
when it isn't.
Don't speak,
don't touch,
don't love,
don't understand.
Don't do it.

I'm so sorry about all the unhappiness you're going through. I've only today caught up with your LJ and am very, very sad to hear about Tom. Perhaps he's just too young? I know I would have run screaming from the thought of settling down with just one person when I was that age. Go and find yourself a rich, older man who can treat you to the good things in life - you deserve to be pampered!
In this situation you've just got to hang on to the positive things (I heard that phrase somewhere; doesn't work for me but beat it around a bit to get it working for you).
I'm very pleased to hear about the new job - at long last, after all the make-do jobs, something that is real for you.
In the meantime, grab hold of a copy of the book in my icon. It's damned good, and sexy, and you'll enjoy it.
*lots of love and hugs*
