Blue eyes

Here's a poem I wrote. I really like it, let me know what you think:


Blue Eyes

I could lose myself
In those blue eyes.
Not in its hidden ocean-
No, that ebb and flow
Would merely suck me under,
Suffocating me with its
Untold lies.
In the threatening storm,
Which is insesently
On the verge of errupting.
A fount of molten blue lava
Scorching me with its intensity,
Devouring me whole,
Leaving only a cracked and hardened shell
Of what I once was.
Yes, I could get lost in that storm.
But I fear losing my entirety-
To be stunned into silence,
By a razor sharp gash of lightening,
To be unraveled by its acid rain,
To be bathed in its unholy presence.
Those eyes
Which speak volumes
Of the person who gazes with them.
The person peering unjustly into mine,
Stripping me of my own hope,
Breathing a scalding fire into my soul,
Freezing it in place
To be forever as I am left here
Without the lukewarm touch
To break me free.
Yes, have no doubt –
I could lose myself
In those blue eyes.
