Um, okay, BIG DEEP BREATH. I'm nervous to all hell, scared out of my mind, and so excited I could probably spontanteously orgasm at any moment (so you shouldn't stand too close). In just a little over one hour, I'm going to be looking at my first apartment. I'll be looking at a total of three today, and making my decision on which one to get. Though, to be fair, I think I already know. But, mum's the word until I give them the check. So I'm taking my camera today, and I'll have pics of my future apartment when I get home tonight. Plus! Sunlight tonight.

So here I go...going to get an apartment. Look at me...Mr. Apartment Guy. All growed up.

someone hold my hand!

Wish me luck!

Luck! Lots of good luck. :-)

Virtual handholding on request.

Psych handholding um, well, I'm thinking it in your general direction. :-)

It'll be ok. Have fun. Be critical. Don't get ripped off. Do a walkthrough to list what's wrong, on paper, with you and them signing it, before you start moving in!

--stonering sounding more like both my parents than I'd like, and doing the math to see. . . Ack! I could have been your mother if I'd been having kids at sixteen! Ack! Ack! Ok. Over it now. Maybe. Ack! ::feeling old::

Sixteen years more than you! And I could tell you how well I remember my first apartment hunting, and being 21, and all that, but I think it would make me feel even older. :-)

How did it go anyway? Have you posted? I'll go look and see, I didn't notice anything earlier, but I was definately interupted when I was looking to see what was new today.

Yep, good luck and stonering is right, be crictical and make sure anythin wrong is clear UP front...One tip a friend of mine once told me...look at the cars parked in the neighborhood, you'll get a quick, good idea of what it's like in the area...Granted, it's probably a college neighborhood, I assume, so there may lots of crap cars! LOL.

Also, keep track of the landlord...once when I was in college, we reserved the place in May for September. When we came back from summer break, our landlord had SOLD the place and we ended up with a slumlord who ended up throwing up walls in the dining room and living room, turning it from a nice airy 3 bedroom flat to a very cramped 6 bedroom hovel when we left so he could rent to more people. SO, here's hoping your experience is BETTER than that!
