My heart hurts...

If you didn't know, the research I'm conducting is on depression among gay and bisexual men and women. And the research that I've been compiling is staggering. Gay men are three times more likely to abuse substance, seek out professional mental health, and suffer from mental health disabilities - the conclusion is that social interaction and thus, negative socialization, is warping our minds. There - there's proof.

Almost ironic - now I'm getting depressed.

I know what you mean. Even aside from understanding the existance of more depression in gay etc men and women. I'd guess that a good chunk of that is for good reason - situations that leave one unacknowledged, society in general. Gak, lots of things.

I read a book on dealing with sexual abuse for research once. By the time I was done with it, I was ready to agree that I had been sexually abused -- even though, to my current knowledge, I never have. The information in the book was just that intense.

Read something else for a bit. :-) Good fanfic, if you can take the time to take a break from school.

Oh yeah, you're scarf is nearing the half way mark. I've still got to put the two halves of Ficcerrific's together, and send it to her, but her's is done except for that, and yours is underway! :-)

Actually the whole sexual abuse thing is still a huge controversy - it became an issue back in the late 70's and early 80's, and it just keeps getting fueled. A lot of people have been sold on the idea that they could have been abused but are repressing it - implantation of false memories is a HUGE deal. Anyway, to make a long story short, it is a controversial branch of psychology :)

Yay about the scarf!!! Can't wait to see it and feel it and rub it...I mean, yay! *g*

Right. I've been aware of the controversy - at least some from the 80's and 90's. In my case I'm pretty doubtful that I'm repressing anything, but I do know the possibilities are endless.

If you and the scarf are going to get kinky, I'm not sure I'm old enough to know about that. But I will try to give you good basic washing instructions. Tongue Out 4
