What do you think? Fic-Book club?

Hey - you.

I was wondering what any of you would think about a communitie that's like a book-group for fanfiction?

Every week there would be a specific fanfiction "assigned" to be read, crossing different fandoms and pairings. (or just BtVS if that's what people would prefer). Could vote on which fic the group wants to read. And then, we could all discuss it.

Ye or ne? Am I a complete geek?

Yeah, we're going to have to come up with something. There are some folks who just get squicked reading a different pairing. We're going to work on it this weekend, though, so keep an eye out.

P.S. Read your other comment about the not smoking pot...Your real friends will either get over it or won't care. Plus, once you get out of college and have to get into the real world, people won't care, most are too busy trying to make a living instead of blowing it on dope. Aah, college, I remember those days, sort of, kinda..it's a little hazy actually, probably was the pot and alcohol...LOL. Good for you. I say, do what's best for yourself and screw everybody else.

I'm game. That sounds like fun, actually. We could even approach it from a position of trying to improve our own craft. I mean, who does't want to do that.

What might be better than voting is trading off on who's in charge of assiging the text. That way we'd end up reading stuff we normally wouldn't. you can learn a lot from things outside your own comfort zone or interest.

I think that's a great idea. The only thing I'm wondering about right now, is het/slash stuff. Should we keep it only slash, or open it up to het as well? Because personally, I tend to really not like het at all. But again, comfort zones...

Oh, certainly. For the longer fics, we'd split it up. Like, read chapters 1-10 one week, 11-20 the next, etc. Because I don't have that much time. lol.

I'm pretty sure that's what we'll be doing. Right now, though, what I'm worried about is deciding between het/slash. Most of the slashers I read and on my f-list get squicked by het, and vice versa. We'll have to work out something like that.
