So - Dr. Henry update:) I'm applying to be a volunteer research assistant for his current studies. A mininum of four hours (probably what I'll do) a week, a weekly meeting and general lab experience. I'd be doing stuff like laundry, cleaning, data entry; basically intern work. I'd also be the graduate students bitch. BUT, not only will I get to spend four hours with Dr. H, I'll also get some great lab experience for my portfolio. It'll look great on my grad school applications, it'll offer valuable reference material for future studies I decide to assist in, and it's something I'm very excited about. The current research he's compiling is about stereotypes and prejudice. I just printed out every study he's been involved in up to this point, so I have a lot of material to sort through (I want to be very thurough).

And now for the homework I've put off *ALL* weekend. First, a minimum of three research article summaries for Child Psych due tomorrow. And also an assload of reading (which isn't required, but I really don't want to fall behind again). And also I have to read the research study that was the basis for One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. That one actually looks kind of fun.

Then it's off to the gym.

And then I need to fill out my application, and compile a few essays I'm going to submit with it. Wheeee.

EDIT: And this would most certainly *not* be a link to a page that could *definetely* not have a picture of him on it. Because that would be wrong and icky and immature.

Look at my latest LJ entry re. acceptance of stigmatised groups...

Very pretty. What's the age dif between the two of you? And has he tracked down your LJ yet? :-)

Sounds like good experience to do the volunteer stuff, and that can sometimes lead in to paid work eventually.

Only about 7 or 8 years. He was 28 last quarter when I had him for class, so he can't be any older than 29 now. And I'm turning 21 soon:D

And, if I do something specific, I can recieve class credit for being an assistant!

Gods! I remember being teased about being a baby by someone who was 20 to my 18. In reality that's not a bad difference though.

Class credit is good. A date. . .well, might affect your working relationship.

Good luck either way.

Hah - I like my guys older than me. Not stoneage older, but...mature.

Paleeze. If something comes of it, the working relationship is so over. lol.

Yes, although at *almost* twenty-one day old bread is just about older than you. ;-) I can talk. I'm 37! So there.

So which would be better? A working relationship or a date? Probably a good workingrelationship that ends (ie project ends) and then a date, if you were still interested then.

Good luck! :-)

Heh:) Age is a funny thing, you know? I really do think it's how old you *feel*.

I think I would much rather have a working relationship, and at most a close friendship. He's one of those people that I look up to and admire - I would hate to find out he's not as great as I think he is.

RIGHT

Yep, you're only in it for the knowledge and experience. Uh-huh, sure, *wink wink*! LOL...He is very good looking.

Re: RIGHT

*snerk*

And also dropping pencils and watching him pick them up:)

Yeah he is good looking! Imagine staring at that for an hour and a half two days a week. *guh* is all I have to say about that.
