No...he was sleeping and I woke him, so I told him I'd call back later this week and hung up.

He didn't know who I was until I told him - that hurt.

I wouldn't worry too much about the non-recognition of your voice - I often don't recognise the voices of people I know well on the phone, and it's even more confusing if I've just woken up!
