Okay, so I spent three fucking hours on the phone today with Dell...and lost EVERYTHING that was on my computer. Okay, starting at the beginning So last night, I downloaded something McAfee told me i should download. I install it, and the computer starts going wonky. I restart, and the task bar won't come up. So I restart again, and only my desktop icons come up. So I restart, and only the desktop comes up. So I try and reinstall windows. That fucks up. So...I was up all night trying to get windows to install. To no avail. So I went to bed and got up at noon, called dell and got some help. It took three hours to finally finish. We tried everything. I now know what the inside of a notebook looks like. Anyway, I lost *everything* that was on my computer. I had to delete the C: drive and replace it with a new one. *sigh* at least I wasn't working on anything big when that happened. Just sucks. I lost all my pictures and writing and stuff (the writing I have backed up). But all my papers for classes are gone. Grrr. So the moral of the story is: Don't d/l anything from McAfee. DON'T. Oh, I guess another Moral could be...backup your work? Nah...
