Meep! *thud* gah!

My task for today is to help out with the bloodrive. I really don't mind helping Sr. Patsy, but I have to actually be IN THE ROOM with the blood and IN THE ROOM with the needles and IN THE ROOM with people getting blood drawn. *thud*

you know, you'd think as much as i'm fascinated by vampire lore and the fact that I write vampire fanfiction, I'd be better able to adapt to being in a bloody environment. hmph.

What exactly is your task? How did you manage to get awarded with it? Maybe you can beg them to let you off the hook, or possibly you might be doing something like sitting in the corner by the cots and handing out juice?

*shivers* I know; I'm in love with Spike, I watch him drink blood and suck people dry on Buffy, and yet the minute I see a needle I flip.

I believe there was a story I read, once upon a time, where a nurse told Spike he should go into medical work. He turned and walked away, grinning as he said, "Nah, don't think I'm cut out for it. I can't stand the sight of blood." *giggles*

You know, it's wierd. When I got my tattoo I was fine. But the prospect of needles with syringes? SQUICK!

think of it as systematic desensitizeation. And, yes, I'd expect you to be a little more comfortable when you're writing about stuff with blood. :-)

I went from squicked by ketchup on eggs to amused after starting reading this fanfic. :-) Although ketchup on avacado is still too much for me, just in a "why do that to good food?" catagory. (The villen is the four year old, who loves ketchup at the moment.)

Maybe if you pretend the nurses (etc) are getting turned on by poking things in to folks veins and drawing out their blood. :-) Or rewrite it in your mind from a vampire point of view.

At least you got through it. I can't stand needles either, so sad am studying to be a nurse and will need to be the one drawing blood. *shudder*
