*thud*

Just saw Phantom. Can I just say - GAH!?

Took my breath away, really it did. Patrick Wilson? YUMMY. I've always thought of Raoul's character as a schmuck, and I always root for the Phantom. This? Made me absolutely love that character (and the actor...teehee.).

Emmy Rossum? Gorgeous as always, and really dwarfed the other actors - she was absolutely phenomenal, and the epitimy of "Christine". I can't imagine another actor in that part.

Interestingly enough, I hated the Phantom. Not so much the character at first, but the actor. *headslap* He's god-awful if you want my opinion, and I found myself wishing the Phantom would die NOW so I wouldn't have to see the guy and especially hear him *cringe*. Like, really I wanted to shove one of the candles into his eyeball.

And I should note that I'm probably especially critical because Phantom's possibly my favorite of all time musicals. I would give my left testicle to see it on stage even once.

And that wraps up my review - now I need the soundtrack and to see it a couple more times.

I liked the guy who played Raoul too. I think he transcended the weenie-ness of the role.

Yeah, I've always hated that character, but he made me love it:)

What did you think of the Phantom?

Actually, I liked him a lot. I thought he did a good job considering the ways in which the production f'd with his character, if that makes sense. No comment on his singing, and that wig they had him in was atrocious.

Maybe it was the production stuff that ugged me, but he just really pinched a nerve or twelve. Heh. Then again, I'm biased towards the original Phantom actor.
