Said I'd been writing.  I give you, "Don't Do It."  It's awful.  I wish I still had that talent I used to have.

Don't make promises;
you won't keep them.
Don't smile when you reek of sadness,
I can see the tears inside.
Don't laugh at jokes
that don't make sense.
Don't make it seem
like the world laughs with you.
Don't ask me if I'm okay
when you know the answer.
Don't listen and nod and smile
when you don't want to know.
Don't turn up the music
to cover up the silence.
Don't ask me questions
you know the answers to
or don't want the answers to.
Don't pretend;
I see through you
like a window on a summer day.
You scream in the night
and I run to you.
You run away.
Don't say forever
when it doesn't suit you.
Don't hold me when I cry
because you set a precident.
Don't pray for me;
No one is listening.
Don't cry;
I don't believe you.
Don't make it okay
when it isn't.
Don't speak,
don't touch,
don't love,
don't understand.
Don't do it.
