Here we go again

Got a letter from the landlord today. He filed bankruptcy last week, and is evicting EVERYONE. I now have a little more than a week to find a new apartment and come up with a deposit, pack, and move. Man I have bad luck with apartments. *sigh*

Prayers accepted and graciously appreciated.

On the upside: I'll have a refrigerator again!

Can you call a legal help line? I don't know the landlord tenant laws in your state but if a landlord is going bankrupt, his creditors get his assets and an occupied rental building is WORTH more than an empty one so the evictions might be him trying to get back at his creditors..in an illegal fashion. Again, not sure but definely worth a phone call somewhere. If I'm right, you can let the other tenants know and have a bit more time to find a new place.

Hey look on the bright side:) Bankruptcy couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, huh? Though cynical me is wondering in the back of my mind if he really went bankrupt or if he's just going to rerent at higher rents or maybe just selling the place to someone who will charge higher rent?
