In all seriousness, though, while I agree that dealing with your family might not be the best thing right now, I also agree that you should get out of the city. Even if it's only for a couple of hours. Just go someplace that's away for a bit.
And come home at some point. On a Wednesday/Thursday. Hell, if you just wanted to come down for the weekend (and by "the weekend" I mean my weekend) you could crash here and wouldn't even have to tell them you came to town.
