Well...

hmph.

For Psychology of Men, we had to read The History of Masculinity, an essay by R.W. Connell, and I really like what he had to say. Granted, the whole thing was in an historical perspective, so it's nothing brilliant. But I never really considered masculiniinity as being driven by economic and prosperous cultures. I mean, just, wow.

Blows my mind.

Nevermind what he says of queer culture's impact on masculininity, but the rest of it - wow.

Just...wow.

See, it's times like these that I a)love school for introducing me to these kinds of topics, and b)I feel really smart because now I now things others don't.

Hmmm....my ma thesis was a queer theory reading of some victorian novels. I think I may actually have read that essay. :)
