Computer help!

My laptop is being all wonky. Specifically - Windows XP. Now it won't even let me do a system restore, and it's got major issues - programs randomly closing and other programs randomly reverting back to previous versions. I'm about 99% sure it's not a virus because I've scanned the thing within an inch of its life. So my conclusion is that it's a windows thing.

Here's where I need the help - I want to crash the system and then reinstall windows pure and clean (well, as pure as windows can get). I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do that? Please? Anyone? Beuller?

You're lappy should have come with a sys res disk, you need to either find all your paperwork that came with your lappy, or go to the manufacturers website to find format instructions. With most puters its F2 to get to your DOS window. I've had to do this a time or two!

I got the disk and everything, but it won't boot from the CD. *headdesk*
