Why not really?

Speaking as a teacher, every teacher has a fantasy (however deeply hidden) of an affair with a student. All you have to do is coax that fantasy out of him

Oh, yes really. I don't remember exactly what it's called now, but there's even lit-theory written about the inherent seductive nature of the student/teacher relationship. Basically, the theory goes that the relationship is always an erotic one and that true learning always take place in a kind of sexualized headspace.

Sooo........

First stage of plan---get on his team. I mean his research team.
Second stage--be wowed by his brilliance. this is more important than you wowing him your brilliance. We're all narcissists at heart, anyway.
Third stage--plenty of alone office time.
