Huh, well what do you know...

I just filled out my lifestyle analysis questionnaire for Counseling Theories. One of the activities on it, as per Adlerian Therapy, is recounting as many of my childhood memories as I can, and then finding running themes and common situations.

Can't say I'm all that suprised, but the themes I found are ones of remorse, issues with not being able to control the situations, dealing improperly with loss, others' dissapointment in myself, and not being able to say good-bye to people I lost as a child. I've always known I was somewhat off emotionally. I guess I just didn't realize how emotionally fucked up I am.

The wierdest part is now that it's been pointed out to me, I see it all around me in my life. I guess Adler wasn't all that wrong after all.

ETA: Morning after post - having thought about it most of the night, I realize it really isn't quite so traumatic. So, I move on.

Anyone who isn't fucked up has spent their lives with their eyes shut, mate!
Happy people?

Yes, there's sometimes a good a reason we repress stuff!
"Worse things happen at sea!"
But have you read any of Eliade's "Season Noir"? In her latest update, there's a great line, spoken by Spike to Xander: "Sire and clan'll unman you if you let them, pet."
How very true.
