First of all,

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Second of all, Best Halloween Ever! What a great weekend. Perfect weekend to end a couple of crappy weeks, no? Started off bad because of the stuff with my mom, but it got better:). Met up with Genivieve about 6:30 and we grabbed Colby about 7 and off we went to Colby's old appartment, where his friends live. Turns out, Colby and all of his friends went as the entire cast of The Loveboat. Sooo funny. They even had a CD with the theme song on it, so every party we went to, we had someone run in and put it in the stereo, and they made their big entrance to the theme music of The Loveboat, complete with a dance rutine.

We started out at a small party uptown. It was okay, but we didn't stay long. We rushed downtown to a party in this gorgeous loft appartment with an upstairs view of the city. Got some great shots of the nightview, like the entire Chicago skyway. So fucking gorgeous. Back to the party. When we first got there, there were 6 or 7 other people there, so we were a little worried. Not 20 minutes after we were there though, there were easily a hundred. That party was happening. Everybody was in great costumes, and they had the best Cosmos I've ever had. We were there for a while, dancing and drinking and making with the merry. I got a chance to talk more with Christian (more on him later), and then we made our way to Wicker Park. Difficult hailing a cab with the entire cast of the Loveboat, a cat, and a skittle...hmm... At one point, we passed Kaperny Green (sp), the projects in The Candyman, and I about pissed myself - that movie scares the hell out of me. We get to the last party, and all seven of us pile out of this cab and try to find the place. We didn't stay too long there though, the party was kind of dwindling - in other words, people were pulling out their bowls *rolls eyes* so we said Buh Bye. Walking back towards whatever street it was, we all spread out in the street (the loveboaters were kinda smashed by this time), singing Loveboat and Leaving on a Jetplane. And then the best part of the night came - hailing a cab. The seven of us each trying to get *someone* to pick us up, and this couple a few feet up the street hail one, and they go to get in, and the driver sees us and pulls up to us. Funniest thing ever. The couple was screaming at us and flipping us off, because we "stole" their cab. Hey, not our fault the cabbie put two and two together and came up with a bigger tip from 7 drunk people than from 2 sober ones.

So we all pile into the cab, all the ladies on the guys laps (I have a bruise on my shin from Genivieve's heel, by the way), and off we go the Zebra Lounge, this swanky little hole in the wall nightclub. This place was amazing! The Loveboat gang decided after about an hour they were going to head to Roscoe's, and since they card there I couldn't go, so me and Genivieve decided to stay behind and enjoy the music and the drinks. I've never been anywhere that knew how to make my favorite drink, and this place did! So I spent about $20 on two lime vodka collins (delicious!) and a glass of champagne for Vive, and we talked and had a gay old time until last call, then we made our way back to her place and watched Mean Girls, and drifted off to sleep.

Then this morning we got up, went to Leonna's for lunch (possibly my favorite place to eat down there) and went shoe shopping! Whoot! Now, I've never paid more than $20 for shoes, and usually get them from Payless. Nothing wrong with that, but I decided that I should treat myself today. I've never been one for labels or designer clothing, but I fell in love with three pairs of shoes today, and like Vive said, I don't get to treat myself to something nice very often, and these were things I really wanted. So I spent *way* more than I probably should have, but have three new pairs of shoes, er, two pairs of shoes and a disgustingly cute pair of boots to beef up my wardrobe. Sooo happy. So she dropped me off at my car and I made myway back home, and here I am.

Best. Weekend. Ever.

Oh right, about Christian, he's this guy that Colby has been friends with forever, they grew up together with Julie in Nebraska. Neither Colby nor Julie knew if he was gay or straight (they don't assume anything - cool people), but Colby told me to go for it when I mentioned he was very attractive. So the whole night I was totally and completely macking on him and smitten by him. Gorgeous gorgeous man. Bout 6'3, lean (but not sickly lean), blue eyes, curly salt and pepper hair, about 30, absolutely brilliant and a great sense of humor. I about died when I first met him last night. But we mostly made smalltalk, which he didn't really do with anyone else, so it kinda leads me to think...maybe! And even if not, it was still soooo nice to finally meet new people and get away from this shit little school. Hopefully we'll meet again though :)

Alright, gotta run. Soooo much homework and papers and reading to get caught up on. Just wanted to post about my spectacular halloween weekend in the city! God it was great.

Oh, and also - three pictures: )
