And another...
Another S/X drabble. Sorry, in the mood tonight, apparently.
Spike sat on the marble and silver tiled salon floor, gazing deeply into flames that danced behind the glass of the fireplace screen. For a brief moment, not the first and not the last, he wondered how it would be to just be enveloped by the fire. To just fade away to nothing. To finally give in to what he had escaped so long ago.
But the steady buzz of heartbeat and the warmth of his human brought him back. The maple eyes that told a thousand secrets and the smile that made Spike’s eyes hurt, making him feel worthy.
